While filming in Robinson Valley, BC (just south of Prince George), wildlife film maker Leon Lorenz found himself being charged by a "mama" grizzly bear. Incredibly, he captured the whole experience on film, and is alive to talk about it. In an interview with CBC news, Lorenz stated "I knew if I would have run, I wouldn't be here".
Though the 400-500 lb bear was coming at him full speed, he managed to keep his wits about him, firing off a warning gunshot just as she emerged from a nearby tree toward him, successfully (and narrowly) warding off the attack, as you'll see in this video.
Incredible footage...hopefully none of you reading this will ever have to see something like this in person.
