What is CoolMax? Explanation & Interview at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2010

What is CoolMax?  The interview below, from their booth at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2010, gives a great explanation.

CoolMax is a moisture management technology made with polyester that moves moisture away from the body more quickly to keep you dry and comfortable.  What makes it unique from other moisture management is that it is fiber-based, as opposed to chemically treated. Because the technology is part of the structure of the fabric, it will last for the full life of the garment.

Major CoolMax partners currently include The North Face, Wear In the World, Addidas, prAna, Marmot, and more.  They are continually developing new technologies, and this year is no exception.  Watch for CoolMax All Season (for moisture management combined with insulation), CoolMax EcoMade (made from recycled plastic bottles to help reduce impact on the environment), and CoolMax FreshFX which provides moisture management combined with a silver-based technology that keeps your garment fresh throughout the day.

If you’re looking for some great pieces here at Trailblazer that incorporate the CoolMax technology, check out these great pieces:
