The 2nd Annual Run the Gauntlet Obstacle Race

Join Trailblazer and The North Face for the 2nd Annual Run the Gauntlet 5K Obstacle Race. The race will take place Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, CT. Participants will attempt to conquer 10+ obstacles as they run 3.1 miles along trails and the beach.

After the race participants are invited to stay around to enjoy our post-race beach party. There will be live music, food, and refreshments. Thimble Island Brewing Company will be on hand to serve up a beer garden with local, well balance, traditional crafted beers. Participants will also be able to enjoy fresh pizza from the Old World Pizza Truck.

This year we will be having 3 heats going off at 9:00AM, 10:00AM, and 11:00AM. If you want to take part in the race with friends you can enter the team competition. Get your friends together and form a team for our Team Challenge! Teams must have 3 or more members. Fastest 3 team members times will be calculated for team overall placement. All team members must run in the same heat to participate. Awards for the top three finishing teams and the team with the best costume. Don’t miss out on this chance for bragging rights! The team categories are Family, CrossFit, Corporate, and Open.

Registration for adults is $52. The student (18 & under) rate is $35. Click here to register. Don’t forget to also join our Facebook event page to stay up to date on the latest news about the race.

Race proceeds benefit Shoreline Greenway Trail, an all-volunteer, 501 © (3) nonprofit organization focused on creating a recreational trail along the Connecticut shoreline from Lighthouse Point on New Haven Harbor through East Haven, Branford, and Guilford to Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison. As an exceptional facility for walking, running, biking and cross-country skiing, the trail will be a safe, environmentally sensitive pathway that engages people in exercise, nature study and active transportation. It will connect village centers, parks, railroad stations, schools and other trails. Local businesses will benefit as it attracts visitors to the area, makes living in the area more attractive for employees and their families and enhances property values.
