Skiing in Connecticut

While most people head out of state when they want to go downhill skiing, Connecticut does have some options for staying local. Here is a brief run down of what the state has to offer and links to each of the locations

Mohawk Mountain

Located in Cornwall, CT, Mohawk Mountain was the first mountain in the country to offer snowmaking at a resort

Summit Elevation 1600ft with a vertical drop of 650ft

There are 25 trails served by 7 lifts with Deer Run being the longest run at 1.25 miles

Altogether there was 107 skiable acres

Mt. Southington

Located in Southington, CT, Mt. Southington is entering its 50th year of skiing

Summit elevation of 525ft with a vertical drop of 425ft

There are 14 trails served by 7 lifts with Dom’s Way being the longest trail at 7/8 of a mile

Altogether there are 51 skiable acres

Ski Sundown

Located just outside New Hartford

Summit elevation of 1075ft with a vertical drop of 625ft

There are 15 trails served by 5 lifts with the longest trail being the 1 mile long Tom’s Treat

The mountain has 65 skiable acres

Woodbury Ski Area

Located in Woodbury, CT and best known as home of the largest snow tubing park in New England

Summit elevation of 850ft with a vertical drop of 300ft

There are 18 trails served by 8 lifts with the longest run being 1/2 mile

The ski area has 100 acres for skiing and tubing

Located in Middlefield, CT and reopening for the first time since 2007

There are 24 trails served by 7 lifts

Tubing and night skiing offered

All skiers and snowboarders will be required to wear a helmet
