Fall Fun: Preston Corn Maze at Night
Associates of Trailblazer at Mohegan Sun recently spent a beautiful fall evening at The Preston Farm Corn Maze. The goal was simple enough…locate all 16 stamping stations in the corn maze and find your way out. The task itself was not as easy. You see, we choose to take part in a maze that started at 6:30 and ended at 8:30. By that time we were finished, it was pitch dark and each corn stalk looked like something out of a childhood nightmare. Especially when you have co-workers lurking around each turn waiting to scare the heck out of you.
The Preston Farm has been an operating dairy farm since 1923 and has been run by several generations of the Grabarek Family. Mr and Mrs were on hand the night we visited and even introduced us to some newborn calves as well as kittens. (We had to check Cathy Guadagni’s pockets before leaving for the night).
This years theme was “Gettysburg” so etched in the paths of the maze were cannons, Abe Lincoln and Ulysses S. Grant. The cost for a night of fun is $8 12 & up, $6 6-11, $3 4 &5 under 4 is free. Sorry, you’ll have to leave your furry friends at home.
Hours of operation are as follows:
Aug 31-Nov 11
Saturday, Sunday and Monday holidays 10am-dusk
Flashlight nights are as follows:
October 5, 12, 18 and 26
Bring your own flashlight
Get a group of your friends together and plan on 2 hours of fun. See who can finish first or in our case-find the most stations. Congrats to team Blair & John and team Kathy & Tim. They each found 12 out of the 16 stations. But there were no losers as a great time was had by all and we didn’t lose anyone in the maze!!
Happy Fall everyone! – From the staff at Trailblazer Mohegan Sun
