On my last update from this cross-counry trip of mine, I said I was going to tell you al about Tennessee. Well, I lied.

It’s not that I don’t want to talk about it, it’s just that I have a few destinations that I’m much more excited about to show you this week. So, after stopping in Nashville, Memphis, and then Austin, I made my way into, New Mexico. Here, and by sheer coincidence, I looked at the map at a rest stop and saw a location I was close to in proximity called, the Carlsbad Caverns.

I was astonished that this was such a mind blowing description of something I had always wanted to do. Not to mention it was world famous and was in the top few caverns in the world to see in one’s lifetime.

Instead of talking to you endlessly about how amazing this experience was (it truly felt like we walked into a distant planet), I’m going to showcase some of my favorite photos I took from the two hour hike underground we did this past week below.
Click on the pics to get the full view version.

In the summer, thousands of bats fly in at sunrise and out at sunset here. AND you can watch!

This is the natural entrance deep into the cave. I’d never seen anything like it.

For a better and more detailed description of the caverns check this out, too.

Also, check out this video below that gives some context to the pics I have in this post. Yeah, the narrative is a bit old school, but the cavern is insanely beautiful. I highly recommend this to everyone and anyone with eyeballs.

Yet with up to 6,000 visitors allowed in at a time, there are bound to be towel-fights over them – especially as this ‘indoors paradise’ is in Germany. The Tropical Island Resort in Krausnick, south of Berlin also [...]
