Grand Canyon

Follow the trip and everything Trailblazer on our Facebook page!

This week marks the beginning of my cross country drive, starting in this lovely state I grew up in, Connecticut, and ending up in, Los Angeles, California.

It’s exciting, scary, sad, and joyous all at the same time. For those of you who’ve moved away from family and close friends, I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. For those that haven’t, I’m sure you’ve said plenty of good bye’s to those that have. There’re so many emotions that go along with a move like this.

Given the season we are currently in, I chose to take the southern route with the warmer climate for this time of year. I’ve done this type of trip before, but chose to take the middle and upper routes. This time around it will be my first time seeing areas of our country like New Mexico and Texas. I’ve also never been to the Grand Canyon, which is something I’m looking forward to as a highlight of this trip.

So, after weeks of preparation, delays, and shipping my life out to California in large boxes, I’ll be departing to venture into a new life.

I’m a sucker for a great view. CT will be hard to top.

But first, I want to invite you to join me from afar in the journey I’ll be capturing along the way.

Along for the ride with me will be my girlfriend, Catherine. She’ll also be helping me document our travels, as we have some great activities already planned.

So, from this point on and in the coming days, stay tuned to our Trailblazer Facebook page. There, I’ll be doing my best to keep everyone up on the real time traveling, activities, music, and destinations, we are about to embark on.

Check out the the route we are planning to take below and please leave any suggestions of activities, parks, or events you think we should check out along the way!

See you soon CT!

Rafting the Grand Canyon:  This Ultimate Adventure has been on our list since we were kids and first saw the Grand Canyon. Seeing it from above just wasn’t for us. We needed to get down into it. Explore it by foot and by boat. The river is one of the most stunning rivers in the [...]

Last Friday was a harsh day for SAR crews in the Grand Canyon. One death and two others struck by lightning stands as a wakeup call to those of us (me included) that sometimes take Mother Nature for granted. Below is the story from local news station KPHO, in Arizona. – Tony GRAND CANYON NATIONAL [...]

Sprinter Tour Park #11: The Grand Canyon: The 10th Factor of Immensity.

by Trailblazer July 29, 2010 Camp

Of all the descriptions written trying to capture the grandeur and immensity of the Grand Canyon, immensity is what dominates. Oh, it’s a gorgeous cleft in the earth, all right – with colors in abundance, not to mention wildlife, forests, flowers, rivers, waterfalls. The Big Ditch is simply overwhelming to the senses. It is too [...]
