Post image for Trailblazer and Denali Team Up for Tough Mudder: Profile – Chris Mejias

Our team is getting totally  psyched for Tough Mudder this month. This week we’ll take a look at who will take over the Mudder this time around.

Name: Chris Mejias

Motto: “Croutons are, and always have been, the best part of a salad.”

As of right now, how are you feeling about taking on the Tough Mudder Challenge? Looking forward to a nice a** kicking. I know it’s gonna be hard, but I’m excited to take on the challenge.

What forms of training have you been pursuing in an attempt to help prepare yourself for Tough
Mudder? Training? Wait, we’re supposed to be training? Haha, joking.

Here’s a list of activities I continue to do in preparation. Push-ups, Sit ups, Pull-ups, Hiking, Trail Running, Cow-tipping, Backpacking, Biking, Slacklining (or failing at it), working out on the climbing board, and meditating for mental preparation.

How will you be gearing up for Tough Mudder? What footwear will you be wearing? Trailblazer Tech Tee… Represent! Quick-drying shorts. TNF Double Track Shoes (Lightweight, Breathable, Tenacious Grip, and superior stability!! Booyah!).

What obstacle most intimidates you? Arctic Enema: Even though I feel that taking a nice dip in water will help cool off,  I’m not looking forward to the near freezing temps.

by TonyDasilva January 26, 2012 Climb

In 2006, Dean Potter  climbed Utah’s famous and forbidden Delicate Arch – the license plate arch – sparking outrage and forcing Patagonia, his main sponsor, to drop him from its roster. Lately Potter has focused on a more daring pursuit: highlining. Although he wears a harness in the video above, he sometimes walks on wire unleashed. [...]

Thumbnail image for Slacklining at Moab: Awesome or Crazy?

Pilgrimages to the desert are a spring tradition for mountain dwellers. Peter Hudnut and friends Jeremy Shive and Josh Simpfenderfer went to Moab last month in search of dry earth and made the above video from their adventures. Slacklining is the pastime in which climbers practice walking on a rope or webbing slung between two trees. The logical progression is [...]
