Name/Store:

Christina Suppe / Branford

Product tested:

The North Face Venture Jacket – I have two now and use to have another

Best uses for product:

The rain, going hiking, winter insulation as a shell

What you used the product for:

Going out in the rain mostly. It is waterproof, breathable, and seam sealed. I bring it camping with me and have been wearing my new one on cool nights this spring. I got caught in some torrential, tsunami downpours while camping one time and was very happy to have my jacket with me. I was the only one who brought a rain coat.

Favorite aspect of the product/special feature:

The best part is that you can stuff it into its own pocket. It makes it easy for travel. When not using it to stay dry, it doubles as a pillow. Having pit zips is also nice when wearing it for activities like hiking.

How it fits:

I feel that The North Face tends to run a little large, at least in my women’s one. I have the men’s also and I had to go down a couple of sizes from what I have in the women’s. The cinch cord on the bottom makes it convenient to pull it tighter if it’s too big, or it is very windy.

Yeah, sure, we’ve all heard of Gore-Tex and what it’s supposed to do, but how does it work? Well, after some research, let me just say it’s complicated. Below are some clips I’ve brought in to try and put some perspective and further info on the subject. And if all else fails, hey, George Castanza likes it! – Tony
