Meet Charlie Kelly
Charlie Kelly is a professional climber and outdoor athlete and is Trailblazer sponsored. Charlie, now a senior at Fairfield Ludlowe High School, Fairfield, CT, and a prospective student of Yale University started climbing in his freshman year. While he’s not hitting the books or training at the CT Rock Gym, Charlie’s all over the Northeast, sending 5.13 sport and traditional climbs, developing climbing areas, trying to crush the competition scene, and having a darn good time at it. Charlie runs trail races, backpacks, backcountry skis, and is a budding mountaineer. He founded and operates the thriving, non-profit, climbing-based outreach program for at-risk, inner-city youth Such Great Heights, and was featured in issue 183 of Rock and Ice magazine.
Hey there, and thanks for checking out the Trailblazer Stores Blog! My name is Charlie Kelly and I’m a 17 year old from Fairfield, CT with a serious rock climbing habit.
My approach to climbing is to say, “Yes!” to all the adventures that roll my way and, as you’ll see, this has made my rock climbing career pretty diverse. I participate in competitions, frequent the CT Rock Gym, and love to sport climb and trad climb throughout the Northeast. When the fingers are sore, I trail run, hike, backcountry ski, and dabble in the world of mountaineering. If it happens outside, I’m probably pretty psyched on it! Check back in for updates on my outdoor adventures, some product review, and my competition results. In the meantime, go get outside! Adventure awaits!
